During the production in biopharmaceutical enterprises, especially in the liquid medicine dispensing system, various types of storage tanks such
as dispensing tanks will be used.
Each storage tank and part should be subject to CIP and SIP to meet aseptic requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
The main function of the CIP/SIP system is to dispense washing liquids, supply detergent solutions, injection water and pure steam to various storage tanks through different pipes, and carry out individual cleaning and sterilizing of individual storage tank or individual system.
The CIP/SIP system mainly includes such modules and functions as washing liquid preparation, circulating washing and system sterilization.
The detergent solutions inside the detergent storage tank in the system are pumped by the liquid supply pump into the heat exchanger for
temperature rise with an aim to increase the washing effect.
The heated detergent is connected to the storage tank that needs to be washed. Through the spray ball, the storage tank is washed,
and the solutions will be connectec through the storage tank outlet to the inlet of the self-priming pump in the system.
The detergent solutions in the storage tank are pumped back to the detergent storage tank by the self-priming pump,
forming a circulating washing loop.
Then the inlet of the liquid supply pump is switched to injection water to wash the storage tank and form a washing path.
Washing and discharging are carried out simultaneously until conformance is achieved.
Finally the pure steam is introduced to carry out SIP through the washing path.
Advantages of CIP/SIP modular design:
1. The cleaning and sterilizing process parameters each time are ensured to be basically consistent, so as to facilitate qualification;
2. Simple and convenient installation and commissioning
3. Various pieces of process equipment are subject to centralized cleaning and sterilizing to reduce respective connection with auxiliary facilities.

1.Moistening cleaning of pipes to be cleaned
2.Preparation of lye (washing liquid) of certain concentration for washing
3.Discharging after neutralization treatment
4.Washing of pipes by initially purified water
5.Washing by final injection water
6.Monitoring of the cleaning effect of pipes,conforming water quality Pure steam
INTEGRAL TYPE CIP CLEANING SERIES
Operators start heating of cleaning liquids. When concentration of cleaning liquid is not up to the concentration of cleaning, operator will add thick acid liquids or thick alkali liquids to acid tanks or alkali tanks. During cleaning, CIPliquids are fed through pipes and valves by operators. Operators shall add water into tanks when they are in shortage of water.
Advantages: medium capital investment on equipments and medium requirements on operators. After proper training, operator will be able to operate.
Disadvantages: little automatized. In a long run, investment on humans'labor is high. Control on temperature of cleaning liquid is not precise. Manual adding of thick acid an thick alkali degrades safety in production, and producting efficiency is low. For medium capital investment, it is a good choice for small manufacturers enterprises of dairy products an beverages.
